PENN COVE WATER FESTIVAL PARKING POLICY

During the 2015 Festival, we exceeded the capacity of the Boat Launch parking area, and emergency responders complained they could not reach the water due to the congestion. To accommodate all participants in the safest and fairest manner possible and respect the needs of the community, we have come up with a new system.

Pullers are encouraged to use the Boat Launch parking area for canoe storage and staging when feasible. There will be racks for 6-man and smaller canoes and sawhorses available for 11-man canoes. Vehicles can be driven into the Boat Launch parking area to drop off canoes, then parked nearby. There will be designated parking across 9th street in a grassy area and at the Coupeville Bible Community Church approximately 1 mile south on Otis St. The church lot is a paved drive-through area that can accommodate up to 12 large vehicles. This location will be on the shuttle bus route.

Parking at the boat launch is allowed on a first-come-first-served basis so long as there is room for racers and emergency vehicles to enter and exit. After that point, additional racer vehicles will be directed to one of the overflow lots. There will be volunteers to assist you with unloading and in finding the parking areas.

Please note: Parking on the streets of Coupeville is illegal and the “NO PARKING” signs cannot be moved. Police will be on duty to ensure emergency vehicles have access to the water and to enforce parking regulations.

As in the past, The Penn Cove Water Festival Association is providing registration, free t-shirts, cash prizes, an Announcer’s booth, changing tents behind the restrooms with a water hose for rinsing off, a hospitality cooler with drinks and fruit.

We look forward to another great year of racing and warmly welcome you as we celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Penn Cove Water Festival.
